6th Grade
St. John School

I've been dreamin' of a ghost and
goblin',
of pumpkin faces and apple bobbin',
of soapy windows and eggs
that splatter;
it's Halloween, so it should not matter.
Despite the
things that I dreamt about;
we still masquerade and venture out
amidst
the scary sights and creaking
for just one night of
trick-or-treating.
When the masquerades are put away,
for another
year they will stay
tucked away and out of sight
until the next
Halloween night.
Why not wear something in its place;
a simple
thing, like a happy face.
I don't believe it would be wrong,
if we wore
it everyday, all year
long!
